Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what NeetMatrix ("we", "us") collects when you use the NeetMatrix mobile app and website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what the product needs to work, and we do not sell your personal data.
NeetMatrix (the "Platform") is owned and operated by Pythesis(the "Company", "we", "us", or "our"), based in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, India. This policy is published in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
1. Information we collect
Account information (via Google Sign-In)
- Your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
- A Google account identifier used to recognise you on return visits.
Counselling profile you provide
- Your NEET-UG rank, category, home state, and course preference.
- Colleges you save to your watchlist.
Chat messages
- The questions you send to the AI counsellor. These are processed by Amazon Bedrock (Amazon Web Services) in AWS's Mumbai, India region to generate a reply. We do not use your chat content to train models.
Payment information
- Payments are processed by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We do not receive or store your full card, UPI, or bank details — only a record of which plan you purchased and when.
Technical information
- Basic device and log information (app version, error logs) needed to keep the service reliable.
- How you use the product — which screens you open, how long you spend on them, and actions such as running a prediction or starting a purchase. See section 3 for the detail.
2. How we use your information
- To sign you in and keep your account and plan active.
- To pre-fill and personalise your counselling results (rank, category, state).
- To answer your questions through the AI counsellor.
- To process purchases and provide access to paid features.
- To fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
3. Usage analytics & cookies
We record how the product is used so we can see which features people find and where they get stuck — for example, that a screen was opened, how long it was on screen, that a locked section was reached, or that a purchase was started. This is behavioural data about your use of the service, not the content of your questions to the AI counsellor.
The tools we use for this:
- Our own servers — the primary record, stored in our database in the Mumbai, India region alongside the rest of your data.
- PostHog (product analytics) — helps us analyse those same events. PostHog receives an anonymous device identifier and, once you sign in, your NeetMatrix account number. It does not receive your name or email address. PostHog may also record a replay of your on-screen activity to help us diagnose problems; anything you type into a form is masked and is not captured.
- Meta Pixel (advertising measurement) — tells us which of our Instagram and Facebook advertisements led to sign-ups and purchases, and allows us to show ads to people who have visited the site. Meta receives a record of the pages you visited and the actions above, and may combine it with any Meta account you hold.
These tools set cookies or use similar browser storage. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we do not load PostHog. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings; the product will continue to work.
4. Where your data is processed
Your account, your counselling data and our primary copy of the usage analytics above are hosted in India: our application server, our database, and the Amazon Bedrock AI service all run in Amazon Web Services' Mumbai (India) region (ap-south-1).
Some data is transferred outside India by the specific services that require it — Google (sign-in), Razorpay (payments), PostHog (product analytics, United States) and Meta (advertising measurement, United States). We limit what those services receive to what each one needs to do its job.
5. Sharing
We share personal data only with the service providers that make the product work:
- Amazon Web Services (application hosting, database, and the Amazon Bedrock AI counsellor — all in the Mumbai, India region), Google (sign-in), Razorpay (payments), PostHog (product analytics), and Meta (advertising measurement).
We do not sell your personal data. We do share the advertising-measurement data described in section 3 with Meta so that we can measure and target our own advertising. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time — from the app (Profile → Delete account) or via our account-deletion page. Deleting your account removes your profile and watchlist from our systems. Some records (e.g. payment invoices) may be retained where the law requires.
7. Children
The service is intended for NEET-UG aspirants (typically 17+). If you are under 18, use it with a parent or guardian.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, access controls) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
9. Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data, and withdraw consent, by contacting us or using the in-app controls. See our Contact page.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
